Capital Classic Tennis Tournament

Our firm is a proud supporter of the Capital Classic Tennis Tournament. The Capital Classic is one of the most popular events on the Gay and Lesbian Tennis Alliance (GLTA) World Tour, bringing together approximately 300 LGBTQ+ athletes (and allies) each year to celebrate diversity, inclusivity, pride, and our shared love of tennis! The Capital Classic is a nonprofit charity event. All proceeds go to local LGBTQ+ charities and future years of the tournament. Past recipients have included the Wanda Alston Foundation, The Washington AIDS Partnership, and the Washington Tennis and Education Foundation.

Best Buddies

Our firm is a proud supporter of Best Buddies International, which is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to establishing a global volunteer movement that creates opportunities for one-to-one friendships, integrated employment, leadership development, inclusive living, and family support for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD).

Legal Counsel for the Elderly

Our firm is a proud supporter of Legal Counsel for the Elderly. For more than 45 years, Legal Counsel for the Elderly has championed the dignity and rights of Washington, D.C. elders by providing free legal and social work services to those in need. Our work addresses the most important aspects of an older adult’s life, including housing, economic security, self-determination, and health and safety. We impact the lives of nearly 10,000 people annually, while advocating for city-wide reforms in laws, regulations, and long-term care facilities.

DC Refers

Kevin Martin serves on the Board of Directors of DC Refers, an online directory of lawyers and mediators who are willing to accept modest means clients (incomes within 200-400% of the federal poverty guidelines). DC Refers, a 501(c)(3) tax exempt organization, connects qualified lawyers and mediators with potential modest-means clients who are seeking reduced fee legal services in the District of Columbia. DC Refers was created to increase

access to justice for persons of modest means in the District of Columbia. Many people in the District of Columbia earn too much to qualify for free legal services from a pro bono lawyer or nonprofit legal aid provider, but do not earn enough to afford to pay the amount that most lawyers charge for legal services.

DC Superior Court Fiduciary Panel

Kevin Martin serves on the Probate Fiduciary Panel, which is a panel of attorneys available for Court appointment to serve as fiduciaries, counsel, guardian, guardian ad litem or visitors in estate proceedings, guardianship of the estates of minors proceedings, and intervention proceedings for incapacitated adults.
